Pallet Fun!!

Sorry it has been so long since I teased you all with this project, it is complete and ready for its debut. Here is what she started out to be:

and here is what she is today:

I just love the way this clock turned out.

I started by taking apart a pallet, then I lay ed  all the boards together and nailed them. I then used a big circular saw blade that my husband had as my pattern for the circle I traced it on an filled it in with some cream paint. I then used a little stain over the cream to give it a vintage look. I printed out roman numerals from the computer using word, cut them out and traced them on to the clock face and painted them in with a brown paint. I bought the clock hands at Hobby Lobby and my darling husband drilled out a hole and installed the hands for me.

I have it in the spare bedroom and I think it looks great!

Bad case of the DON'TS

I have had the worst case of the don'ts. I just don't want to do anything here lately. A great friend and I joined a gym about a month ago and that has really been the only thing that I have done productive. Weight loss is such a journey in and of it self. I am hoping that this journey will get me to a slim and healthy weight and off of my blood pressure meds. Blood pressure issues run in my family and I hope that with weight loss I can keep it under control with out the use of medication.

Sneak Peek!!

I am busy working on a new piece for my room
and decided I would share a little sneak peek into my little project.
I am working this week with an old wooden pallet.
My husband uses them occasionally for his side jobs
so I confiscated one for myself shh shh don't tell him ;)
Make sure you stay tuned in to see what it turns out to be.

Hope you are having a great week!!!

Linky Follow Tool

Google is discontinuing Google Friend Connect this March
for all platforms except Blogger. It is also a strong rumor
that they will also cancel GFC for Blogger  in the near future.

LinkyFollowersLogo1

Some of our terrific Blogging Friends got together
and contacted Brent, the man behind Mr. Linky.
He has created a new Linky Followersplatform
on which we can connect with each other.
I’m still using GFC  since I’m on Blogger,
but I think this is a great new tool to have
to stay connected with non-Blogger friends and,
who knows what may happen to GFC in the future.

It's easy to sign up, you just follow his clear instructions.
Plus, you don't need a blog to sign up either.
Brent’s  service is free and he has included some neat options:
  • View the blogs you follow
  • Read follower posts from your list or on a scrolling feed
  • Group your followers
  • Mark your favorites for quick access and viewing
  • Plus, it’s much easier to follow back someone who is
  • following you (unless you use the "random" set up
  •  on how you want your friends pictures to appear)
  •  I choose the newest to appear at the top.
  • Plus you can even "feature" a blogger!
    linky followers 2

Non-Blogger users will not be able to transfer
people from their GFC followers and will lose
all of their Google Friend Connect friends.
Don’t take a change of losing your followers
when GFC goes away for non-blogger platforms.
Sign up for Linky Followers now and give your
followers have the option to follow you this way.
This also offers your followers who are
not linked to Blogger an alternative.

Another important thing, Linky Followers won't
ask you or your followers to sign up for any unneeded
or unwanted service, and Brent isn't using or selling
the private information collected from use of his tools,
unlike Google, Facebook, Twitter, Etc.  Who needs
another service to spread your personal information all over the web?

You can  use the link above or the link at the bottom
of my Linky Followers gadget on the sidebar to take
you directly to Brent's service.  After you sign up,
won’t you please sign up to follow me in the new
widget on my sidebar, right under the Followers
widget, just below  the Google Friend Connect sign-up.
You may also opt to sign up on GFC, if you are still
affiliated with Blogger.   I’ll be keeping
that for as long as it’s available.

    Fun Finds

My Glass Cloche's and fun finds.
I am a lover of the grunge look as well as things with a vintage side.
Here are a few fun finds I have found recently.

Here I have placed under a glass cloche,
a few old metal door knobs and a wooden ruler
I opened up to look like the letter M to represent our last name.

Under this one I added a couple of vintage wooden spools,
some vintage crochet trim and some wooden letter press letters.

    Wall art

I have always had a love for old keys and wanted to incorporate them some how in my room redo. I bought this frame at Hobby Lobby and decided I would decorate it with some old keys and burlap. I added a little bird that my sweet friend Tracy gave me. Believe it or not the bird was white with hardly any tail feathers I sprayed it brown with glimmer mist and added a few feathers to her tail I love the way she turned out.  What do you think?

    Remember these??

Well I have finally pulled one of them out of the garage and added a burlap wreath to it, and it will hang in my sons bedroom. I am redoing his room and making a guest bedroom. He went off to college 3 years ago and it has taken me this long to adjust to the fact he has grown up and will just use the room to visit. I am so proud of him and his journey.

I have painted his room and his dresser, hung some curtains that I made, sewed some pillows and I am now on the hunt for bedding.

Hope you are enjoying your journey!!

    A Little something

Here is a little wreath that I have made
to go in my vintage room I am working on.
I started out with a wire circle. Cut some scraps
of burlap, muslin and cheese cloth and tied it
onto the wire. I then added a flower made from
burlap, made a lollie to go in the center of the flower
     added a bling and their
you have it a fun little wreath.

I know Christmas is over but,

I was asked to post some close ups of the stockings that I made. Hope you Enjoy!!!

    (click on pics to enlarge)

Tracy and I had a great time sewing these it took me a bit longer on mine I just couldn't figure out what I wanted. I made two others decided to scratch those and changed the plan and this is what we came up with. Not one of these is the same. I used burlap with a felt topper. The doilies where all hand crochet by my mother, I found the trim online and at different antique stores. The ornaments came from Hobby Lobby and Cracker Barrel. I love the way they turned out. My sister loved them so much I am now making a set for her. Fun stuff!!!
